I have a trophy ridge Mantis v-drive guide series. and i got from 0-35 yds form only 12ft. up. and i have a slow rig. 60lb. Hoyt protec accuwheels. shooting 28.5 acc 3-39s with 125 gr. head. If i had a faster bow Im sure i could get 40yds out of it.
I have curretly went back to a fixed pin sight. I just perfer a fixed over a single pin. I am thinking of selling my Mantis if anyone is interested. Its an new 07 and only has a few hrs of shooting on it.
let me know with a PM.

Im a fan of Pendulums for huntingjust because I only tree stand hunt. Beenshooting regular pin sights for over 25 years. I started shooting pendulums about 10 years ago. When Im in a tree, a pendulum works well for me.

I shoot294 fps and have tried both the svage and the mantis. They both worked pretty good but the max yardage iwas able to get was about 32-33 yards andI get that with fixed sights. At one time, they had an advantage but at todays speeds I see no reason to use one if you use good form and bend at the waist.I'd have to see 40 yards to believe it.

I've used pendulum sights in the past, while the fad was somewhat popular, years ago and I'm convinced that their need is seriously exaggerated.

With a modern bow rig, shooting even modest arrow speeds a standard fixed pin set up will work perfectly and I have seen NO advantages of a pendulum. Also, most pendulums are just plain noisy.
WOW:D

FAD? Not hardly, I just flat out prefer a pendulum over a fixed sight. Do I NEED it? No.

Sure, fixed pin sights work great, pendulum sights work great also. So, what's the advantage of using a fixed pin? My pendulum locks into place for ground shooting, and unlocks to allow shots from nearly straight down to 40+ yards without compensation.

Noisy? It wouldn't be on my rig if it was noisy.
