MD you might be closer to the truth than you know.

I have spent a lot of time researching the colonial era in the Americas and those old timey French trappers dressed to keep warm and to not be seen.

A red/black wool Capote ( hunting shirt)was common. If it wasn't so hot out I would get mine out and take some BW pictures. Plaid is a very effective como pattern.

Go with the new mossy oak breakup, Ihunt in ontario too, so far no deer have seen me. I really like this pattern for all season.
