Default Arrow Wraps?

Can anyone tell me information about arrow wraps? I am not new into archery but this is a topic I know nothing about. Also, maybe give some pros/cons of them?

Thanks

Wraps are a great way to customize your arrows quickly and inexpensively. They also aid in finding arrows after the shot, help with vane adhesion, and enable you to see your arrow in flight better. If you're interested, get hold of onestringer, he has a thread in the archery classifieds. They make awesome wraps and their prices can't be beat.

Like I said before, I know nothing about this topic so don't be surprised at my next question.

Do you fletch over them?

Are they glued on or are they like a shrink wrap?

the most common wrap is like a piece of tape you peal the back off and roll your arrow on in, and then you fletch over them.

Check out this post I made awhile back, it might help answer some of your questions;

Fantastic post. Very helpful. Do you purchase wraps based on arrow size? I ask because what happens if your wrap overlaps? It would ultimately lead to uneven weight distribution.

For carbon arrows, get 1" wide, aluminum, 1 1/4" wide. I made an instructional post as well about wrapping arrows.....Let me see if I can find it.

washington hunter, on the cabelas site i see those jigs come in straight fletch and 6 degree left or right helical. right now i'm shooting 4 degree right offset, which do you think i should go with? I feel like i should have some spin on the arrows, but i have a whisker biscuit rest and people tell me a 6 degree helical isnt a good choice for a containment rest, rather a shoot around rest. Which do you think i should go with, is 6 degree helical too much? would straight work just fine?

While it's always good to have a bit of helical with your vanes you'll be fine shooting a straight vane out of your whisker biscuit.

My honest advice would be to buy the 6 right helical and a drop away.

you can also go to a local sign shop and have them utilize 7 year 2 mil vinyl. I had a couple of dozen made at a local sign shop and they used their cutter to cut to 1 inch wide and various lengths for different arrow setups.

I think the Bohnings are somewhere around $1 each and I was sub $.30 each. I have seen some of onestringers early post and if memory serves me correctly he will do some custom cutouts and such to add a personal touch to your arrows and they were very reasonable.
