New Bow
#1
Bought a new bow yesterday. They had the 06's on sale. I tried various Hoyt's, Mathew's, Browning's, PSE'S, and Ross. Man I would have liked to have all of them mostly. I finally chose the Ross CR 344 tho. I really don't know exactly why I kept coming back to the Ross other than I liked the way it looked and felt to me. Being new to bows I just went by what I liked.
It took most of what I agreed to spend to just buy the bare bow. It was originally 675.00 marked down to 500.00. I'm using the sight I took off my Bear BTR. . .I think it's a Quickie Impact Hammerhead (or something like that). I really don't have any complaints about the site so I will most likely stay with it for awhile. I kept the same stablizer . . .a Vibracheck . . .I don't see where it helps or hurts, or really is even needed. My biggest want right now is a new rest, as I am using a TM Hunter Hornet . . .it is just a pain to use while hunting but since I've spent my allowance for this month I'll just have to gut it for the rest of this season.
I really would like suggestions on a rest. Right now I'm leaning towards a Whisker Bisquit but am concerned it may affect accuracy somewhat and may even slow my arrow down a little.

Thats the best way. Choose exactly what feels good to you and dont pay attention to the hype. Ross certainly is building a rep for great bows already though. Glad your happy with it. As for the whisker biscuit. Yes it may slow your arrow a few fps, but it will not affect your accuracy. I had shot great with mine even had a rob hood and plenty of busted shafts. The only concern is it will wrinkly some fletching. I shot quikspins and it was pretty rough on them. I was constantly taking the hair dryer to em. Drop aways are great these days and some capture the arrow fully just as the wb does. Like the QAD ultrarest.(ive owned one for 3 years), and ripcord. I didnt have any problems with my ultrarest untill recently. Im thinking of going with the muzzy ze. Looks like a worry free design.

If you want a capture rest, I will take a look at the Nap Ouicktune 360. I had it on my previous bow and it was great. It holds your arrow in place with out making fletching contact and its easy to tune. I put an Ripcord Arrow rest on my new bow. I think its great a drop away rest that holds your arrow in place.

Thanks guys, I see the first thing I'm going to have to buy is a good target block. This bow has a lot more umphh to it than the other and the haybales are not working out. I'm messing up my vanes trying to find target material suitable to shoot in to.
