RE: Pass the salt... MAJOR kudos to the Muzzy Zero Effect rest!
Good deal Jeramy... If you wouldn't mind, check back here and let us know what Pat tells you.

RE: Pass the salt... MAJOR kudos to the Muzzy Zero Effect rest!
Pat said they recommend crossing the strings below the cable guard for best performance. But didn't indicate that crossing them above would be a problem. He referred me to Muzzy for further support since he doesn't have experience with this particular rest.

Welcome to the RIGHT side...I've been using onefor 3 years now and LOVE it. NEVER had a problem with it on my Hoyt Ultratec.

RE: Pass the salt... MAJOR kudos to the Muzzy Zero Effect rest!
Well guys, after two nights of tuning, I had to put the old 2-prong launcher back on. I just could not get the timing right onmy HoytUltrasport. I even talked to Mark at Muzzy, but could not get the "nock high" out of it without jacking the elevation screw almost all the way out of the stop plate. I made sure the turnbuckle was adjusted for the last 1" of draw, but still had high flyers? I went back through everything twice and moved the nock point to where the bare shaft was slightly downward at the point, but still could not get it tuned. Does anyone with a MZE/TEC riser have any suggestions?
Thanks. |

I have it on my Razer tech.

I have been using one for 5 seasons now, great rest and I'm sure if you try it anyone would feel the same. When I change bows, it goes with me.

RE: Pass the salt... MAJOR kudos to the Muzzy Zero Effect rest!
I was thinking of going to this rest as well. Right now I am shooting a Trophy Taker Pronghorn, and I can't stand it slapping my riser. Anyone know a way to fix this? Or am I just going to have to change rests?

RE: Pass the salt... MAJOR kudos to the Muzzy Zero Effect rest!
Rammer, I think I mentioned in the first post that I ran into that same problem with the Trophy Taker when trying them out. You'll either have to get some serious moleskin, or some felt rubber or some foam weather stripping or something to quiet it down.
To me, it just wasn't worth it -- not when the Muzzy is whisper quiet, with absolutely no slapping of anything. |
RE: Pass the salt... MAJOR kudos to the Muzzy Zero Effect rest!
Greg - Thats why I mentioned it. I went to my local pro shop tonite and picked up a lumenock. I've been tossing around the idea of changing rests, but right now I have a chance to buy an '05 Hoyt Vipertec with fallaway, tru glow site, and some other goodies for $350. Thought it might makea good backup bow for my Trykon as I don't have a backup bow since I set-up my old browning for my old man.....
