RE: Cuddeback Expert battery issues

I recently bought a new Cuddeback No Flash and after owning one of the older 3MP units, they really screwed the pooch with this new case design. It's terrible.

Mike, I support ya 100%. I also have an older 3.0 MP Cuddebackand was quite disappointed when I received the No Flash--No locking cable, no padlock. The eye bolt that it comes with cannot tighten all the way down and replacing the batteries, while holding that blue plate and trying to slip the battery metal plate in place is a real head!!
Onewould think that models should 'improve' with time--Cuddeback obviously doesn't see it this way.

Yeah, no locking cable, no USB cable and with the new case design, the batteries are a pain to keep in and you have to choose to either screw it to the tree or lock it with the cable but not both like the older models. Also, it's darn near impossible to get a lock installed on the cover.[:@]

I like the pictures it takes but hate the new case.

RE: Cuddeback Expert battery issues

For a $400+ camera the battery compartment is a joke. I bought a couple hoping that they would siut my needs.Wrong....after wrestling with the batteres, big exposure differencesand not being able to get the flash to work on one of them I returned them. I wound up getting some Cabela 4.1's and am pleasantly supprised on the good pictures and ease of operation with them. Moultire and some others have external 6 and 12 volt operations as an option, I wonder what is keeping Cuddeback from catching up with em. Just some of my thoughts.

RE: Cuddeback Expert battery issues

Well !!!!!!!, I am finally done with the cuddeback expert. Batteries won't last more than 3 days and thats with the unit off. I am even using Industrial strength Energizer Akalines too !!!!! I am sending my unit off to Cuddeback for the last time and no telling how much they'll charge me this time. There has got to be something better on the market....

Battery Life

I have one of the older units and had the same problem with the unit loosing power. I have it on the tree right now with a screw jammed in there but before the week is over I will have a external battery hooked up that should last 4-6 weeks between charges. I am so tired of buying throw away batteries that lasted a week or so and the rechargables dont last a week so I had to get creative. If anyone wants to know how it turns out let me know, I'll be testing one here at the house soon.
