Default Cuddeback Expert battery issues

Has anyone had issues with their Cuddeback battery compartment ? I've noticed that on several occasions that the unit will lose power and all I have to do is push up on the metal plate. Does anyone have a cure for this issue ? I wish Cuddeback had some other way of mounting the batteries. Thanks

Unfortunetly, the terminals are way up inside the unit and I can't get a pair of needle nose pliers up thereto pull them down a tad. I'm just trying to figure out how to "shim" the metal plate to apply more pressure to the terminals. Thanks for the question though...

will a peice of cardboard, paperbag, piece of cloth from old shirt.......work if that is even the proplem. it could be abad sauder(not spelled right) somewhere in the unit. if shim dont work take the unit back if possible or take it apart and get the soder'n gun out if your handy at that stuff.

I'll give sodering a try if the other "shimming" ideas don't work. Thanks for the reply.

Call Cuddeback and complain. I'm a huge Cuddeback fan and have three of the older models, but the redesign this year is awful. I bought the no flash and returned it due to the battery problems. Last time I checked you could still get the older models at Archery Experts.

The metal plate needs to go 'behind' the plastic rim that butts up to the battery.
If the plate is in front of that rim it will not make proper contact, thus the reason for the power on/off condition.
