Check out this STS
There is a guy on ebay selling these he custom cuts the rod to your bow. Looks interesting and a lot more compact than the regular sts

RE: Check out this STS
no cable slide??? doesn't it wear-out your bus cables?? it does look sweet, but i would like a cable slide!
|
RE: Check out this STS
The cable slide is up farther, not in the picture walt. You'll catch on some day. You'll get it don't worry.
|
RE: Check out this STS
once again, if you're not going to say anything intelligent don't say anything at all.
thanks. |
RE: Check out this STS
Just trying to tell you where the cable slide is on a new bow. It's usuallyabove the wood handle. If you look at where the cables cross at the topof thepicture, thats where the cable slide is....ok buddie.
It was nice of you to be concerned for the guy though. You'll catch on walta couple more years of experiencewill do it. |
RE: Check out this STS
well tschammel, i already thought of that... remember, i'm the critical thinker of the two of us!
now, i have never seen a manufacture make two seperate ports for a cable slide. yes, you are correct that some of the manufactures have gone to above the grip, but many still use the below the grip placement for the cable slide. if a manufacture does indeed place the slide above the grip they do not still put a port below. nice try, but please refer to my former post. thanks. |

that's funny, because i just left schaffers and every bow that had the cable guard above the grip didn't have this port you speak of... maybe you are thinking of the port used for the stabalizer... tim, that port is on the other side.
look, i know that your dad has done everything for you your whole life and you haven't really ever needed to pay close attention to your set-up, but there was a time when there was no such thing as cable slides, just cable guards. long story short, yes it is posible to not have a cable slide. thanks |
RE: Check out this STS
Next time we shoot, your taking your cable gaurd off and shooting an arrow. Then I get to watch and call you a big dumb a$$.
Oh....did you find that special release at Scaffers that helps you get rid of your trigger slap. You should order one if not, you got to get rid of that bad habbit. |
RE: Check out this STS
read it again tim, i said cable slide not cable guard...
and your should be you're. thanks. |

RE: Check out this STS
It seems like that would also tip you off to changes in tiller as well. If your string no longer touches the STS or develops a "bend" your bow has become out of tune. Yet another benefit of the STS!
I gotta get one of these things. |
RE: Check out this STS
Walt, your bus cable doesn't touch the STS at all. Only your string touches the STS. The bushing on the after part of your bow below the grip is for a STS. Meanv2 also make them in most camo patterns. They look very sharp and the feedback on them is that they are better made then the current STS.
Can't we all just get along ![]() |
RE: Check out this STS
Here is a picture of two bows with the sts sytem installed. The sts goes in the port below the handle. Has nothing to do with the bus cable. Two fine looking bows if I might add |

quote] I agree the camo ones look awesome |
RE: Check out this STS
this is probablya dumb question but what is the purpose of an sts?
|
RE: Check out this STS
Eliminates alot of string noise and vibration. Some people say that you can remove your string silencers / cat whiskers and pick up speed.
|
RE: Check out this STS
its a rear stabilizer mounting hole - they have been on bows since before the sts utilized them - except for hoyt.
i'm curious which bows still come with the cable slide below the grip. |
