The Aluminum on the outside has reduced coefficient for friction and provides less drag while hitting animal. I have also noticed that it is more resistant to the environment. My older carbon arrows are showing signs of sun damage after two years. Either way I don't think there is an advantage as to accuracy and strength. I believe this is mostly 99% skill when provided with quality equipment.

I went to the FMJ last year after shooting the BlackHawk Vapors then went to the GT Velocity XT's. I now the shoot the FMJ's with a 2-1/2" Bi-Delta vane, NokTurnal nock, 100grn 1-3/8ths GrimReaper RazorCut. LOVE THEM!!!! Won't go back to regular carbons again. I just bought another dz shafts to stock them up if they start to become hard to find. Group better, better penetration. Down side, my quiver does not like them. The tend to slide out of the holders pretty easy if I don't pay attention. Put a piece of electrical tape inside the arrow slot, problem solved.
