Avalanche--yes it does--the same Compact Flash and also 4-D cell batteries, same as the older Cuddeback.
r33h--I haven't used it as yet (outdoors) so I'm unable at this time togive a fair answer.
I can tell you it's a much more compact design than the older Cuddeback but it's a bit thicker. A 3.0 MP during the day and 1.3 MPinvisible infraredflash by night.
I'll say more when I'm able to--right now I can do with tips to conceal it properly.

www.chasingame.com has reviews on most of the game cameras available. Check out their forum for information on the new Cuddaback No Flash. They seem to have had problems with the initial batch and that is why there delays in shipping.

Thus far the Cuddeback No Flash models are struggling with several problems. From not writting the CF Cards to very poor sensing and image quality they seem to be having numerous problems. Cuddeback is aware of the problems and are working hard to get the problems corrected.
The new '06 Cuddeback Expert model on the other hand seems to be getting rave reviews for it's excellent performance.
