Default 3 blade or 4 blade

I shot Muzzy 3 blades this year but i was wondering if i should try the 4 blades or stick with the three's. I heard that with the 4's you could get better penetration but i don't know if i want to get rid of the cutting diameter. Please tell me what you use or suggest.

Thanks much.

I see no need in changing to the 4 blade. The small amount of difference you get in cutting surface area isn't worth fooling with in my opinion. The 3 blade is just fine. As far as penetration, you will never notice any difference between the 2, so don't worry about it.

Good luck.

I would stay with the 3 bladed head. Four will give you a little more cutting surface, but can create problems of their own in arrow flight AND four blades do not penetrate better than three. Think about it--more cutting surface mean more friction to cut through the hide and all the other muscles. And three blades kills just a deadly when put through the lungs. You'll never see a difference.

I 100% agree with BGfisher!

bdu33, you may already know this, but Wasp makes the Hammer SST in a 3 blade 90 grainer, if that is of any help.

I appreciate it Snood but I've been a Muzzy man for quite some time. I've decided to go with the 100's. They'll balance just fine. I will however look at the Wasp. Thanks.

No problem. I don't currently shoot either of those brands, but have in the past and find them both excellent
