I have seen several references to using carp for fertilizer. How are you doing it and in what capacity? Garden? Landscape? Anybody using them with tomato plants?

we don't have carp, but we use gar's and mud fish.we chop them into chunks 6" to 10" long and plant in garden and around plants. put around your veggie plants.works great.all the fish I catch to eat, when I clean them I save the heads and guts and put around my fruit trees.peaches , plums , persimmons. they produce great.

that was the indians main source of fertizler for there corn crops.

You can either throw the whole carp or cut it up in pieces and through it in. I like to dig it down about 3 inches below the seed bed and it works incredibly well. Keep in mind however that it is a natural magnet for scavengers in that form so make sure you are deep enough and that if possible your garden can be protected. It makes great fertilizer.

I'll be using them in my veggie garden this Spring, and also around some new trees I plan to put in.
