RE: serious Carp problem

Coyote,

I'll have to try and make it up there sometime.

We have lots of carp here. Too many carp, actually. They stir up the sediment so badly that it's very hard to see the carp. I haven't seen any bowfins or gar in my area. I'd love to have a gar on my wall. (I hear they taste pretty good too)

Hey coyote I am from central michigan transplanted to Iowa City for the summer and the variety of fish and so far the numbers are awesome and exceed mich bowfishing except bay de noc and saginaw for sizw and number of carp. It is pretty cool, what parts of mich do you usually hit??? Just wondering. Later

I'm in southeast Mi. St.Clair Shores. So I fish Lake St. Clair, and most of the tributaries from it. I also hit lake Huron, too many creeks and rivers in that area to mention them all. We usually drive around and check the stream, rivers and creeks. When we find the carp boiling ther water then the fun begins.

that is how we do it too but the places i go arent the best spots in michigan by a long shot. i usually shoot more dogfish and suckers then carp, have yet to get a gar.

C J, congrats on the paddlefish tag. Good luck! (be sure to get some photos!)

Thanks! We'll see how it goes, I guess. A few of us are trying it for the first time, so it should be interesting. I'll definitely take photos of anything we land.

AWESOME!!!

I've been waiting for a bowfishing forum.
These topics always seem to get lost in the bowhunting or fishing forums.

Thank you mods.

I've only ever shot carp with a bow, but I love it.
It was the first 'bowhunting' I ever did, and I've been at it for about 20 years on and off.

Thanks, guys. As much as I'd like to take credit for ANYTHING funny, I'm happy to report I've never made THAT medicine cabinet mistake. My mom gave my sister calamine lotion instead of Pepto Bismal once when we were kids, though. She had a pink bathroom after that.
