Yesterday we ventured down 3 hours to one of our favorite Bow fishing haunts. The small stretch of water below Carlyle Dam. It has been closed to bow fishing for the last couple of years. Through the hard efforts of some bowfishing folks got the corps of Engineers to open it back up. After getting there we were informed by the local CPO That bow fishing season is closed. They actually have a season on this stretch of water from June 15 to Sept 15. Only 3 months. Yet in a couple of months they will have some Commercial fishermen come in and haul out all that they can catch. They actually want them out, but will not allow us licensed fisherment to do it. There was another local boat there and they took out 140 last week, we took out 46 yesterday before we were asked to leave. We thought we were good to go and were shocked. The bank fishermen were cheering us on and wanting us to shoot them all. We were also able to give all the fish to a family who were fishing on the bank. They were trilled, still do know know how they got them home. To you who have shot big heads you know how much 46 of them weigh. So if any oneout there has any pull with the powers that be in the corps let us know. Frustrated in illinois.

What can I say? We have the same type of government here in Ca. Some tiny obscure fish that no one ever heard of, rules the Sacramento delta, and all the tributaries, along with the environmental wackos that control this state.
