The Tennessee River is smoking hot right now. We went out last night and shot 3-4 gar 3-4 bigheads 3-4 silvers and a spoonbill. If our aim was better we would have three full barrels. It was my second trip of the year and everyone elses first. Everyone was stoked and we even got enough footage for the first episode of this season of Average Outdoorsman TV.

Had a 40+ Bighead pull off. Biggest we landed was 28, and 2 23s. A long nose gar surfaced by the boat that topped 5 ft easy. I think our state record is 27ish lbs and no joke this fish might have been a contender. It surfaced so close to the boat it actually brushed the side and raised its head out of the water. Dave shot over his back and missed him and I was rigging my buddies bow not 2 feet from the gar and I pulled back halfway with the bow sideways and slung an arrow as well. Both just nicked the back. We were sick. It was a pig longnose..[]

We got into schools of literally hundreds of silvers/bigheads mixed together. Even the occasional spoonbill. We didnt find the hot spot till 230...Had we been there all night....there would be alot more bloodshed, lmao.
