I just look down the arrow shaft and instictive shoot works fine when you get the hang of it. And for a cheap rig find a old bow at a rummage sale draw weight or kind of bow doesnt really matter compound or recurve buy a couple arrows and you can even just put a 20 oz bottle on where the stabalizer hole is and wrap string around it. Depends how cheap you want to go.

Here is a couple sites you can go to to find the most commonly used equipment. http://www.sullysbowfishing.com/ http://backwaterbowfishing.com/

Most commonly used stuff is ams retriever reel, fiberglass arrows, ams safety slides, and muzzy tips.

You don't really need much for sights and rest set up. I don't use either but some use roller rest and things like that and some use a cheap single pin sight maybe but it doesn't take much to shoot some fish. A bow a couple arrows and your reel.

As far as aiming. Aim low cuz water refracts andif you are missing, aim lower cuz your not aiming low enough. I think the rule is about 3inches lowfor every foot of water the fish is down from the surface.

Dude get a cheap compound and hook up the AMS retriever. I'd recommend the solid carbon muzzy arrows and muzzy bowfishing heads. Also don't use the line they give you with the AMS put stronger line on. Aiming: You have to try to aim a foot low, but shoot instinctive. It works the best. Best of luck!
