I have shot both bh's and silvers plus grinnel, carp, buffs, longnose and shortnose gar there. It is very busy during the weekend daytime though.

Hey bud, I live and bowfish out of New Athens. Plenty of targets out there. All you need to do is get off the main river and into the sloughs and creeks. Plenty of gar, carp, and asians to go around. Do you know the river around there at all? Feel free to e-mail me [email protected] for more info if you need it, or want to go out some time.

THANKS FOR THE QUICK REPLIES, IT LOOKS LIKE I'VE FOUND A NEW AREA TO EXPLORE. I AM FAMILIAR WITH THEOXBOWS BECAUSE I DO ALOT OF MY DEER AND TURKEY HUNTING THERE. I USUALLY WOULD PUT IN AT BECKS LANDING BEHIND BALDWIN LAKE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL SILVER CARP JUMP IN MY BOAT DURING HUNTING SEASON AND THEY SCARE THE DAYLIGHTS OUT YOU WHEN YOU DON'T EXPECT IT!!!THE INFO YOU PROVIDED IS VERY HELPFUL BECAUSE I USUALLY DON'T MAKE TO THE RIVER AFTER HUNTING SEASON. HOWEVER,I'LL HAVE TO WAIT A COUPLE OF WEEKS BEFORE I GET OUT BECAUSE I'M HEADING TO THE EAST COAST ON VACATION. THANKS AGAIN!!!
