Default Good place for gar in Illinois?

Does anyone have any idea where someone could go for decent gar hunting? Good meaning 4'-plus.

Shelbyville has some big (for IL) longnose. Kendall and I saw one roll that looked to be at least 15lbs. At least. (it was also out in the middle of the lake and rolled when we were not expecting it in the least bit [:@])

Christine, I have consistantly seen the largest gar rolling out in the middle of the lake over the deeper water down at Shelbyville. On the northern part of the lake near Wilbourn access area used to hold some bigguns. The largest longnose I personally have ever taken was on the Sangamon River and it went 19 lb + change, of course Uncle Dave's was bigger on that dayby just hitting 20 lbs [:@]

We had a couple in our sites last summer on the Desplaines that were pushing 40. Saw one swim under some pads that we thought was huge, but nothing in the boat to prove our story.
