We have this one big ox in the club that shoots a recurve that's 70-pounds or something like that!

At Rend Lake, Joseph turns his bow down to less than 30lbs.With my 40lb bow and Kendall shooting his 73lb bow.... well, we can understand the light bow concept. You don't want to get that arrow too far down into the weed roots.

On the other hand, when you're trying to hit fish in deep water (or really big, big fish) heavier is better. I couldn't get decent penetration on those big, deep water carp in Table Rock Lake.

Whatever poundage you feel comfortable shooting is fine. We have this one big ox in the club that shoots a recurve that's 70-pounds or something like that!
Strong as an Ox to pull a 70# pound bow all night.

Almost as smart as an Ox to make fun of him. ;) :D
