Ka Bars are cool for sure... I've got one that I use for camping, but that's about it.

My hunting knives are a nice skinning knife that I got from a member here, the other is a Browning Mountain TI. Both very small, very sharp and easy to carry.

For the hunting I do, I don't like to be weighed down with much.

Fixed blade knife about 4" blade should do fine for field dressing and skinning.

Nice knife! Too big for my liking though. My "go to" skinner is a Coleman-Western Skinner! It has not failed me in 30 years.

Thanks for the info! Its been a workhorse. I've bought other knives but when its time to pack for hunting, the C/W is the one that goes to the woods!
