I am using a Bushnell Trophy 3x9x40 with Mil-Dot reticle's. I have them on two different inlines a Remington and an Austin & Halleck. They have been on now for a couple of years and are working great. I really like the Mil-Dot for BP it really helps with the eliptical path of a muzzleloadeing bullet. You will probably need to get medium rings to mount the scope on most bases so the objective lens is off the barrel.
Good luck

I just bought a Bushnell Banner 3-9 X40 mm (BH713947) with the circle X reticle and 6" eye relief from Natchez for $64.95. I had it out today and the scope was real clear and easy to adjust, but for some reason I need to shim this one. I could not get the scope to come up high enough. I have another Bushnell Banner 1.4 X 4.5 X 32mm on my CVA Staghorn and it shoots great. I have pumped a lot of loads through it and it has never faltered at all. Bushnell also has a good guarantee...

I have a Bushnell Sportview Shotgun Scope (1.5X4.5) on my Knight and it has never given a moments problem. Paid about $70 for it 2yrs ago at Bass Pro.
cayugad..................have you had any other scope mounted on that rifle yet?? I had to shim the rear mount on my USAK when I mounted that scope - either the mounts (Knight See-thrus)were not of equal height or else the receiver is not exactly level across the breech area. Either way, all is well now and I've never had to go back to retorque the mount or adjust the scope.

thanks for the advice. i had a guy in a store try to tell me a shotgun scope wouldnt hold up. i didnt believe him as i know my muzzleloader does not have any more kick then a 3.5 inch turkey load from a shotgun. of course it wouldnt hold up (in his eyes anyway)-the rifle scope was 30 bucks more

One good thing about shotgun scopes it that they have an eye relief greater than most rifle scopes, which is a good thing for muzzleloading.
and they are supposed to be STRONGER than standard rifle scopes, not weaker...................sounds like "somebody" was working on commission. [&:]

I also have a Bushnell Banner "Dusk To Dawn" scope on my Encore 209x50. It is the 3x9x40 and has about 3.5" of eye relief. I have used it with 150 grain loads pushing a 300 grain sabot without any problems. I have also had it mounted on my slug gun for 2 seasons. I think it is a great scope for the money. I think I paid around $80 for it. The optics are clear and I have not babied it. It works well enough for me to shoot 1/2" groups at 100 yards. Check out my thread.

G2 Shooter, how's it shooting. I'm still playing with mine trying to get the right scope setup.
This place has some nice prices on Millett scopes: http://www.bosesguns.com/index.asp?P...S&Category=354
and http://www.bosesguns.com/index.asp?P...S&Category=353
I like the Bushnell Dusk & Dawn scopes also.
