i was looking at the ruger website and seen a ruger blackpowder rifle , why don't i hear more about anyone shooting one of these ?

I don't think there is anything wrong with the Ruger, I just would stick to a more proven Blackpowder gun manufacturer... TC, Knight, etc.

My best friend has had a ruger 77 .50 cal for several years and it is not only a beautiful gun, but it shoots like crazy. He just installed a 209 primer conversion kit that was purchased from Cabela's. Not a very popular ml but sure is a nice smoke pole....
