Mauser06;
thanx livbucks......if i cant find it ill head there...not sure how far it is but if its close to you it cant be THAT far for me....

Delmont is about 8 miles east of Monroeville on Route 22. You gotta know where Monroeville is. Just go East on 22 from Monroeville. When you get to 66 junction go North about one mile on 66. Delmont Sport Shop is on right.

Wal Mart runs into insurance issues as well when they thought about keeping black powder on the shelves. Besides insurance there are special storage restrictions, display restrictions, customer safety issues, and federal licenses that must be obtained and kept on premise. To them that is more of a head ache and cost then it is worth.

Why is it then that alot of the places have 777 and pyrodex out on the shelves on the floor but won't or can't sell BP? Does not make sense to me! 777 and pyrodex go BOOM too.

Stealthycat,
I wanted to do it for years, kept talking about it. Then one day I just got on the puter and ordered it, just like that. Even surprised myself. No regrets, and never look back.

Black Powder is classed as an Explosive. That's why a lot of gun stores don't carry it. Dealers that want to sell real Black Powder must have federal licenses to have explosives. Insurance companies jump all over this being in the building.

Pyrodex, T7, American Pioneer Powder and the rest are considered a Combustable Substitute as it was explained to me. They do not have to get all the federal permits, licenses or have the storage facilities.

A close friend of mine who owns a small sporting goods shop carried Black Powder for a while. He stopped when it was demanded that the Black Powder had to be stored in a powder magazine when ever the store was not open. This meant that every night at closing he had to take the black powder off the shelves and return it to the magazine or was in violation of law. (as he explained it to me). Yet he was allowed to sell what ever black powder he had purchased for the store prior to the new regulations legally. Once he ran out, we all went to Pyrodex....
