I recently aquired this older flitlock style muzzleloader, I know absolutly nothing about it, except it's a Traditions, .50cal, and has a 1 in 48in twist. I plan on selling it but would like to know a little about it. Any help would be appreciated.

Last one I just noticed it may not be that old, the front sight is fiber optic.

First off, that is not a flintlock... it is a percussion cap. It looks like it would shoot a #11 cap. It is not a Hawkin because the forestock is too short and it does not have a double trigger.

Being a 1:48 twist it would shoot about anything you want to shove down it. The exact model of it would be hard to determine. You might want to send the pictures to Tradition Arms if your sure that is who made the rifle. I have a Traditions Hawkins and a Pioneer and it is not one of them.

That would be a nice little rifle for a .50 caliber.

cayugad, I knew it took #11's, I was just wondering what model it was, and how old it was it's in great shape. Do you think I could get $100.00 out of it.

If the bore is in good condition I do not see why you could not get $100.00 for it. A lot of times those single trigger rifles are good hunting rifles. My pioneer is almost idential to that except it does not have all the brass ends and the forearm is a lot longer......

Looks like a kit gun that both my dad and brother built. came in .54 and .50 and I think was called the "Hunter"
