I'm shooting 100gr(2pellets)of triple 7and.250gr hornady sst bullets with excellent groups and they preformed well on the 5 deer I harvested with them from 40 yards out to 125 yards.

Cabela's carries BP Bullets. I bought my dead center and extreme from them. Some of the bullets are only listed in their reloading catalog. I needed to call customer service to order the extremes. The dead centeres are in most catalogs. BP bullets were the ones that told me I could get them from Cabela's.

Try the 777 powder for whatever bullet you use. It's really good stuff.

I agree kid, I shoot 100grains loose. I want to try 110 and 90 this year to see the difference.

The Omega, unlike BPIs versions of the Apex & Optima, really like "magnum loads" with 777. I'm always reading good group reports using 110-130 loose and 3-pellet 150 grain loads. The optimum grained sabot-bullet is 300, but 240 on the low end and 400 on the top end are nothing to sneeze at either.

Why do you say the 300 grain sabot is best? What bullet brand(s) are you referring to? I love my TC Omega, but I asure you it will perform very well with lighter Precision Rifle sabots and have plenty of kinetic energy with even 90 grains of 777 to do the job on deer. Now, if you are going after elk, then that is different. I have recorded 1/2 inch groups with the .357 175 grain bullets using 105 grains of 777 ffg at 100 yards. The deer I shot with it this year was dispatched quite nicely also. I must confess I have a .45 so I am somewhat limited in weights, but I also assure you that the .50 caliber will perform equally well with the DUPLEX .357 195 grain Dead Center. I will now step down off my soap box. :)

The 300 number is based on posts read.
Bullet brand is multiple in length & nose
I stated above that the lighter low-end 240 grain was nothing to sneeze at

like many, i have not had any luck shooting the powerbelts from my omega.

i am happy with the 2 inch groups that i am getting at 100 yards with a 240 grain XTP bullet sabot combo over 2 50 grain pyro pellets.

i have a bushnell trophy 3-9x40 on it and couldn't be happier.
don't remember what rings/bases my gunsmith used.

i'll look in to it.

I like the 777 and the 300 grain XTP bullet. I shoot a Knight Bighorn, but the Omega is calling me.:D
