Default primer troubles

encore pro hunter--ive been having issues for 3+ years getting the hammer to pull back after i put a primer in.
sometimes it does, sometimes it does not. any help would be appreciated. winchester 209 seem to be the worst.
i have not bout primers in years. the ones that work are black/greyish color. i have no idea who makes them
ive been reading that i need the cci209 magf primers. i just started using blackhorn this year

thanks

When you say you're having trouble pulling the hammer back do you mean it will come back but not lock back in place or you can't pull it back at all?
if its the former than your action is not closing all the way. If you open the action is there a mark on the primer?
We could use some more info

I just checked my pro hunter and if thecaction is not locked up the hammer will not come back. Take the forearm and barrel off thecreceiver and see if you can see snything that is stopping the action from closing completely.

Have you had the frame apart changing trigger springs?

Don't you love when someone starts a thread then doesn't come back and follow up on it? Drives me nuts.

Well Barnes I have 2 questions for you. 1. What was a buck doing in your garage? and 2. What did he do that was so bad that you had to hang him for it?
