I have a question about the TC 54 Hawken. When did they stop making the heavy 1" across the flats barrel and why? I was lucky enough to find a unfinished stock and all the hardware and lock and triggers a couple years ago for $100 it has a 1" channel but I also found a TC Hawken barrel 54 caliber 1" across the flats that is practically new. So new that it looks like it was unfired for $125 it's heavy but so well balanced you don't notice the weight when aiming. I'm curious about when they stopped making the bigger barrel. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The 1" across the flats barrel was only made in 54 caliber for the Hawken, all the other calibers were 15/16" across the flats. The Renegade model only used 1" barrels for all the calibers it came in. The Renegade barrels can be modified to fit your !' channeled Hawken stock. T/C is now owned by S&W, and they no longer make side lock muzzleloaders.
