Default OFF TOPIC - In a World Where Anything is Possible

I just started listening to the audiobook Gone by James Patterson. In the first ten minutes of the book one bad guy blows the lock off of a door with a "silenced" shotgun and another bad guy, pissed off at his wife for interrupting his workout, throws the 40 lb. kettlebell he is working with at her. It sails just past her ear and punches through the wall behind her.

I'm trying to decide if this is fiction or a true story.

A silenced shotgun? IMO either the silencer (suppressor) didn't work very well or was maybe something like 5' long!
And a 40 lb kettle bell! That guy is either a gorilla or she was really close. Yeah, I could probably throw a 40 lb weight - maybe 10' if I had a lot of room to get some momentum going.
Sounds a little fishy to me
