Then take it out to the edge of the flat to the same depth as the original.

OK, and if you never get around to it that's fine too. I will never be using that bullet. It was just a curiosity thing.

Used a #14 drill; it turned out to be a bit too large; too late now. We shall see.

Ron, there is a possibility that you have changed the weight ratios of the front of the bullet to the rear of the bullet. I know Dave says this balance is important to bullet stabilization. The missing weight may induce some wobble at the rear of the bullet. I do not know this for sure at all but from experiments that we have done altering bullets with a lathe we have seen this in the results.
