Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and black powder. I've done a lot of reading and watching YouTube videos as well as a CVA DVD on the basics. I may be aquiring a Mountain Stalker a buddy bought at a yard sale. It is a .50 Cal with a 1:48 twist. I gather that I will need #11 percussion caps. If I want to go with round ball it should be .490 with a .015-.018 patch and 60 grainof ffg. It has been suggested to change out sights with Star Dot Fiber optics and to ad weight to the stock however I'd like to change out the stock with wood. Please correct me on any of this and I'd like any further wisdon on the weapon. Thank you.
