I have a pair of Bushnell trophy's on my Remington 700 ML's.
A dusk to dawn Bushnell on the plains rifle, it had a $5.00 yard sale Weaver K4 4 power scope for years.

I also have a Bushnell Dusk to Dawn on My 870 20ga slugger gun.

I never had a Simmons. I have had low-end Bushnells and have not had problems with them. My son has the low-end Nikons and loves them. I have a Redfield Revenge on an Optima. It is OK but you have to stay familiar with the accu-ranger crosshairs. Sometimes you can find a Leupold VX-1 on sale, I have $100 invested in a "blemished" 3X9X40, they are great scopes. Keep in mind that a fixed power scope has less to go wrong then the variable power scopes.

Cabelas has the Nikon 3x9x40 BDC on sale atm for like $89. Thats around %50 off. IIRC its more or less a older version of the Pro Staff model line.
