During winter, i usually carry a 44, because, after shooting, the brass is easy to find compared to the 45. When shopping for bullets, i noticed these Gold Dot and, purchased a few boxes. When they arrived here, one look, and i wondered if they would work in a muzzle loader. This morning ten shots were taken, using the bullet in an Omega. The load was 66 grain Blackhorn (weighed), green crushrib sabot, W209 primer. Recoil is mild.

Before I sold my Ruger Redhawk 44 magnum a friend loaded some 210 grain but I can't say they were Speer as I don't remember. They were a flat lead point with copper around the outside. I shot a deer with them one year and was real pleased with the way they worked.
That group you have is not the end of the world. i think with some powder playing amounts that would tighten up. Maybe?
