Default Buffalo ready

This coming Wednesday is the day I go to harvest a buffalo.
I had taken the scope , bases and rings off my Super Safari and put on a peep sight so I decided to use a different gun . One with a scope
I decided on the Disc 1:20 because I wanted to use Ed's bullet .
My load was to be 90 gr 777 , triple 7 primers and the 465 gr conical with a veggie wad.
I decided to shoot at a 100 and see if it was on paper .i was pleasantly surprised that it was dead center but about 6 inches high .
I made one adjustment ,that brought it down to about 3 or 4 inches high .
I moved the target to 125 yards .
That put me about 1 1/2 inches high
I didn't exactly measure . I couldn't see the the second shot so I walked to the target . It looked pretty good to me .I shot 3 more that made the group look even better but didn't get pics as I was to lazy to walk in the snow again but they were almost all touching
Then I tried a couple shots at 150 yards which would be max distance.
About 1 inch group. Good to go I think .

That kind of shooting and load will get the job done. Good luck!

Looks like you'll be able to get your freezer full of bison friend. Hopefully you can get closer than 125 yards. I've take 2 with archery gear and getting in to 35 yards of one (or a herd) is a real rush. Especially after you release the arrow.
If I try it again I think I'll use one of my sidelocks. Either a .54 or a .58.

I imagine I could get closer but it is a Tribal tag and they won't let you get closer than between 100 and 150 . That's what I was told anyway

Well I don't know when you're going but good luck. And going with a tribal tag I'm thinking you'll have a guide with you. That's a good thing because I had a young bull charge me and my guide on my last hunt while we were standing over my downed bull. After I had shot the bull and the rest of the small herd ran over the ridge this guy decided he was coming back and give us some whoop ass but stopped short when the guide started yelling at it. But the guide had his 45-70 guide gun at the ready in case he didn't stop. He was pretty PO'd and blowing snot and swinging his noggin side to side until he finally turned and ran back over the ridge with the rest of them. It took me a couple mins for my butt cheeks to relax...lol

DANG Chet. That's the biggest spike I've ever seen.

Congratulations on the shot placement and the animal. Great pictures.
