I got an Apex. I compared it side by side with the t/c and liked tha action and construction of the breach better. Definitely go with the drop action and 777 powder. A great combo!

Beware the T/C Omega with a stripped scope base screw hole. If your lucky like me you' ll have to spend money to ship the barrel back to T/C and then wait a month for them to fix a problem that was built into the barrel.

Get the Apex or CVA or Buckawacka.

The Apex although marketed as Winchester is made by CVA. Very little difference in it and the Optima Pro.

There is considerable difference in those two rifles. The Optima is a breakopen, the Apex is a drop action. The Apex will wear a much better finish and is available in stainless steel. I would choose the Apex if selecting between those two rifles.

Me too, as a mater of fact that' s what I' m getting next weekend. I knew that, I don' t know why I ommitted it but found out the maker from the gun shop. He wasn' t too big on CVA but really indorsed the Apex.

he wants more opinions
But only a few?

http://www.chuckhawks.com/recommended_muzzleloaders.htm

The Omega is a better gun, and the most influencial muzzleloader of the decade. Though only in its second year of production, it at least has a track record . . . the Apex has none, and its Spanish barrel is under-proofed.
