But like i said i am only guessing
I couldn't find the post where one fellow ML shooter tested my bullets for hardness, but if my memory serves me correctly I think he said it was around 4.5.

From Ron's test with it I think you can tell they are soft enough and should provide some shocking power not to mention perpetration and should do a fantastic job on Elk no matter what rifle Chet decides to use. Even though we ALL know he should use his White Super Safari!! LOL

WOW, 4.5 is pretty soft. Don't guys have leading problems if they shoot a good bit? I know in my .45 colt anything under 7.5 leads up my barrel pretty bad. But of course thats with smokeless loads. The connies I mold for my .50 cal sometimes are around 9-10.5 hard cast so they pretty much don't expand unless I'm under 40 yards and even then they don't mushroom a lot. But boy will they crush through both shoulders and have a hog doing the dirty nose shuffle!

Im using pure lead with my bullets. I haven't had any issues with any of my White ML's, but then again my velocities are under 1400fps.

I've experienced no leading problems with Ed's pure soft lead bullets in my 1:30" twist Green Mountain and GOEX with a 1/8" dry wool wad under the bullet.

Under 70 gr I don't use a wad, since I am using 90gr I use a .060 veggie wad . I think helps with preventing leading. I sure hope so. Time will tell I guess

I'd pretty much take what Ed said as gospel. Just as long as you had hip waders on.....

I'm not sure what that means, or was intended to mean Batchief.

Are you doubtful that the bullets may have a hardness of around 4.5? The ones I got from Ed were cast from roof jack lead I sent him. They are dead soft pure lead.

Ed and I go back several years,,,,and I consider him a great friend. Ed has taught me a bunch about casting bullets for the White muzzys. My comments towards Ed, were certainly in jest....
