From Ron's test with it I think you can tell they are soft enough and should provide some shocking power not to mention perpetration and should do a fantastic job on Elk no matter what rifle Chet decides to use. Even though we ALL know he should use his White Super Safari!! LOL

WOW, 4.5 is pretty soft. Don't guys have leading problems if they shoot a good bit? I know in my .45 colt anything under 7.5 leads up my barrel pretty bad. But of course thats with smokeless loads. The connies I mold for my .50 cal sometimes are around 9-10.5 hard cast so they pretty much don't expand unless I'm under 40 yards and even then they don't mushroom a lot. But boy will they crush through both shoulders and have a hog doing the dirty nose shuffle!

Are you doubtful that the bullets may have a hardness of around 4.5? The ones I got from Ed were cast from roof jack lead I sent him. They are dead soft pure lead.
