Finally nice weather

I got done the chores around the house and decided that it was too nice a day to sit in. I called my friend and we decided to go make some smoke. He had just gotten a CVA Wolf and is still playing with working up a load for it. I on the other hand grabbed my CVA Accura V2.
We set the targets up at 100 yards and took turns shooting. I knew my rifle was sighted in with 300 gr XTPs but my friend gave me 4 packs of Barnes MZs (I think) in 295 grain. At 100 yards these shot a nice 1 1/2" group. But I did not like his shooting set up as much as mine. It seems too wobbly. I then sent 3 XTPs down range and got pretty much the same grouping. That was with 90 gr of Pyro RS. I boosted up the charge to 100 gr and the group shrunk to just about an inch and shot about 2" higher. I should have tried the Barnes with this load but didn't. Next time out.
And I'll use my shooting table which is much more sturdier.

it sounds like a fun day. I personally shoot the Barnes 300 grain MZ Expanders out of some rifles. In my Remington Genesis, I never shot such a tight group ... EVER ... as I did with those Barnes.
I did yard work today, and fed the gnats. Man are they thick this spring.

Dave maybe they were 300 gr. I wouldn't hesitate on using them on anything that walks after looking at a couple I recovered. They expanded nicely and likely retained 100% of their original weight except for the poly tip.
But I like the way the XTPs shoot. And for the price you can't beat them. The accuracy is as good as any other bullet I've ever shot and every deer that I shot with one never complained.
I wish I could have posted the targets. I had them in the back seat of my pick up. But being in the upper 70s today I had the windows open and they must have blown out because when I got home they weren't there.
It felt really good to feel that recoil against my shoulder after 4 months of absence.
