So, what did Santa bring everyone?
My brother got me a Rock Solid mount system for my m44 Mosin Nagant and the sporterized bolt.
Then the big surprise came from my dad and it was a Timney trigger upgrade for the Mosin Nagant. Lots of cutting inside the stock, but I've done it before. Im going to look into the Arc angel stock however.
My dad and I got together and decided my brothers CVA Hawken needed a rebuild due to the crown on his 50cal being worn down badly on one side of the barrel where the ramrod has been hitting over time.
My dad ended up buying him a NOS .54cal 28" barrel on ebay for a good price and then I bought him a new kit stock which I sad to send back due to multiple cracks around the patch box and the toe having a big chunk of wood missing. They'll send me a replacement. That was a big bummer, but at least the barrel was good. Once the stock comes in, i'll get everything bedded, shaped, sanded down and stained. He said he'd like that reddish brown finish that I've used on a couple other stocks in the past.
My brother got my dad a Uberti 1847 Colt Walker .44 and that just knocked my dads socks off when he opened it. I got him a cleaning kit and a .454 ball mold, so now we'll be busy casting 54 58 and .44cal balls some time this week LOL.
That old barrel on my brothers hawken however fits my CVA Mountain pistol, sooooo Im thinking off cutting it back to 16" for an awesome "little" target pistol

I told the wife in early Fall that our country is experiencing a rise in gun-related murders, some as mass murders. Mentioned to her that I would like to become 'armed' when leaving our home. I explained to her that our bedroom drawer 22LR Smith & Wesson pistol lacked the needed power and bullet size. It was also too large for personal front pocket-carry.
So my Christmas list was for cash-only this time-around and Santa obliged.
Sometime in the next 30 days, I should become a proud owner of this recommended bargain-priced pistol below. Then I will sign-up for the necessary classes to obtain my CCW permit..... which is an additional $100.

I didn't get anything, but I never do. My whole family is my dog, and he's too cheap to buy me anything.
So, I bought myself the JBMR rifle, but it wasn't for Christmas. Look at the word Christmas, and you'll see who should be the one getting gifts.

I got just what I needed...nothing. All the gifts go to the grand kids. That Ruger is on my short list and no CCW needed here in VT at least for now but all bets are off if the elections go wrong in 2016.

I really don't get myself anything. I do grant me the authority to purchase anything I want through out the year. If I really want it. I normally look forward to Christmas for the excellent dinner. Its the one time of year I break my strict diet and eat most anything I want. Then suffer for it the rest of the year.

My wife and I had a very blesses and memorable Christmas holiday giving to my parents, our grand kids and her mom. We also held a toy drive where we were able to put together and host A gathering with good friends and family where we Received over 50 gifts for families who had lost there homes or fell into hardship and were under the care of a local church. For my wife, an assortment of thoughtful gifts were wrapped under the tree and she rewarded me with a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield along with some most excellent hunting clothes!
