I am thinking about that too Pete. I already have an email sent to Green Mountain Barrels to see if they have any flinter breeches and a removal tool in there old inventory.

Oh, I forgot. Is this for a TC? The way I understand it GM stopped making the drop in barrels for the TC guns, because they couldn't get the breech plugs for TC anymore.

TC sure let a lot of people down by dropping their sidelocks.

Neither barrel will be orphaned. I am going to switch breech plugs.
bronko,

I was going to say, make me an offer and I'll buy the 1-28 from you. Dumb idea, I need a project right now like I need another hole in my head. However, I'd bet there's a whole mob of people who would love to have a nice conical barrel. Feed it Hornady Great Plains bullets and enjoy. You know I'm not big on roundball barrels, but they're as common as sin on Saturday night. You could buy one, and make someone else the very happy new owner of a nice conical shooter. I bet you thought about this already.
