Plenty of deer at the vineyard.
Opening day, took this doe:

Exit hole:

Shot was 115 yards, from my Knight Disc Extreme with a Lehigh .452cal/250gr bullet, Harvester crush rib black sabot, 110gr BH209. DRT – could not tell heart from lungs.
Three days later this button buck (big for a BB, thought it was a doe):

Maybe a 30 yard offhand shot from my Omega X7, also shooting a Lehigh .452cal/250gr bullet, Harvester crush rib black sabot, 110gr BH209. Saw me at the shot, ran maybe 50 yards without any lungs, heart was intact.
First time using this bullet. Very happy with the accuracy and terminal performance. My Omega X7 shoots them just as well as my Disc Extreme.

thinking Matt doesn't know much about MLers fellas. Think he is comparing ML bullets to center fire.
Matt, Muzzleloaders don't typically reach high velocities so you want a big heavy bullet to penetrate. With the speeds of your typical center fire you can have much lighter bullets and still achieve adequate penetration. Momentum is key to muzzleloaders. Nowadays we have better powders to attain higher velocities but for the most part we are still in the 1700-2000 fps range so you need to have that size and weight for momentum.

Nice job Hubby! Those are working like a champ!
I plan to shoot something (hopefully) with the same bullet this season.
super, I think it must be Bloodlines, he mentioned 250gr in his first post.

Loudoun county. Yes, six deer season with options to buy more tags. I don't need six deer but Hunters for the Hungry is very active here. Any deer I don't want or cant give to friends is taken by my processor to feed the needy. Good deal all around.
