Glad you got it out Bronko. I bet you had some choice words...

Semi, you are smart. The duct tape trick is great thinking. For your wife's sake, maybe you can change your name to SemiSmart

I had a Nightmare Day a month or-so ago when I took three rifles to the range and it took the entire 2 hours I reserved for this range visit, to finally get ML #1 ready for Opening Day. I absolutely hate it when the tightest shot groups at 50 yards, turns out to be the worst of my bullet and powder volume selections, at 150 yards.

So needless to say, twice I returned to a lesser yardage range to resolve this issue, then back to the 150 yard target finally.

I no longer have to admit I make mistakes since I got divorced... Glad you got it out and especially without damaging the bore.

You should be like me. My wife goes away and lets me alone during hunting season. One thing bothers me though. I know why I'm glad I have my freedom this time of year. But why the heck is she so happy every time we talk on the phone????????

Well, since I got the news yesterday that my Doc is going to finally do the surgery on my knee and pretty much ending all hopes of any hunting this year (surgery Oct 16th) my wife is definitely NOT in the happy campers club! Hunting season is her vacation from me!

Bronco I believe you prolly went the less expensive route than I did but I have to admit it was the best money I ever spent...lol. Now my girl friend and my dog don't care how much I hunt and I sure don't have to ask anyone if I wanna buy a gun or 5 like I have the last 2 weeks.. My dad looked at me and did his imitation of Walter and said your my hero...

I have had the problem, I made a bushing of brass to protect the barrel.

That's a good idea too. But you never know when you're going to need one. And I could possibly need one in .45, 50, 54, and .58!

But I think Semi's Idea of duct tape around the bit is easier and quicker. And the 2" width is plenty for alignment.
