I believe Speer is at maximum production with government/military contracts.

Been that way for a while. They aren't buying more space or shifting production, to make more Deep Curls in 300 gr, or the Unicor in 260 and 300 gr. The 240s Deep Curls don't work for me. They are 44-cal and I'm needing 45s.

Curious why the .44/240 DC won't work for you (but in any case they are only marginally more available than the 45/300gr bullets).

But if you must have a .45 cal, Widner's has in stock a 45 cal/230gr bullet (Gold Dot for the .45 auto I think) that should work just fine.

I says this year Michigan requires a 45cal bullet in the ML hunts.

The new Michigan Firearms Hunting Laws for 2015 have parked a ton of my bullets under the basement steps.

Hubby11

I have an almost entire 100-pk of Speer Gold Dot 230s and 100 Speer Deep Curl 250s. The 250s are so much beefier-looking, but fragment nearly the same as the 230s. Different nose design than the 240s and 300s.

I cant find any such regulation. Years ago it was 44cal minimum but then it was not regulated for awhile too.

Maybe you have a link to the new 2015 regs. I cant seem to find them regarding ML projectile caliber.

No I do not. Haven't purchase any hunting licenses yet for 2015 and the new booklets usually come with the new tags. There were multi-posts on this new Michigan change somewhere. Now I'm thinking I read about the change over at the castboolits.gunloads ML board. Just don't recall what thread.

Ive read the 2015 hunting digest pamphlet cover to cover and i see no caliber restriction for MLs. Its 35cal for centerfires. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dn...t_461177_7.pdf

Since you are on the michigan-sportsmans forum, maybe you can ask there. Busta is a member there too and he should know for sure. I know he uses a 45cal H&R and a CVA pistol with 50x40 sabots.

Hunt away, there are NO restrictions on those muzzleloader bullets.

T7, I've searched and searched and cannot find anywhere that they have restricted to .45 caliber and above in Michigan. Me tinks you have been misinformed! Pull the bullets out from under the stairs!
