This is the 185 grain Controlled Fracturing 40 caliber bullet. In this morning's test it was pushed by 50 grain of Blackhorn powder. Range was 25 yard.






















The bullet shred it's petals in the front jug. One can see holes in the back of the jug where the petals exited, even though it was blowed out. The second jug was near blown in half, and contained 3 of the petals. The third, and fourth jugs were penetrated through and through. The fifth jug contained the bullet.

Aint dat just a purdy sight!

That bullet of any weight is da' bomb!

Those bullets just flat work. I'm gonna have to shoot something with one this year.

And the amazing thing is at the velocity they were shot, they still preformed so nice. What I am getting at is, people ask ... I have a child that wants to hunt but they can't handle a large powder charge.. well there you are. Load that up and tell them shoot for center mass and let the bullet do the rest of the work. Low recoil, probably very accurate, and devastating performance.

Im really surprised that it reacted just like it does with a more common powder charge.

That is exactly what Dave was going for when he created this new CF bullet. Adding the slits between petals is the primary reason the bullets has the capabilities of working as designed at lower velocities.

A nice same-bullet choice for both dad and son, where 40-cal bullets are allowed in muzzleloader season.
