I can personally account for the performance of the PT Golds Pete. Them suckers hit like a freight train at medium to higher velocity impacts and they hold together very well. But they don't open that well at lower velocity impacts. They open, just not a whole lot. I am going by the damage for the most part as I have only recovered 1 and that was from a 1200 pound Bison Cow shot at 72 yards. Bullet was a 260 grain .451, Not sure which Sabot I was using at that time, and I think the charge was 130 grains T7p. I weighed it when I got home and it was right at 255 grains.

Another great test. Thanks for your work.

Someone should gather the set and place it a sticky for future reference.

We need more stickies in the Black Powder Contest Forum too. I want to contest someone removing all the stickies there.

Who Stole The Stickies?..... fess-up! Who is this member named Never?

Yeah, we need to redo the "three offhand shots @ 50 yards" contest one day. But it's a bad time of the year for a contest. Lots of us aren't shooting because of the heat. I know I'm not anyway, with high's around 98° for the last two weeks. I won't be hitting the range until mid-September.

Yeah it's starting to get hot here too. Muzzleloaders, at least mine anyway, don't like heat at all and I don't either! Anything above 60 I'm a sweat bag.

Last time I shot a few weeks ago, it was in the low 80's, but no humidity. Did fine.
The whole country is hot right now. We are mid 90's and humid. Looks like the same for the next week or so anyhow, but hey... its mid July so its business as usual for our area.
