Default ? On cva optima v2

You can buy a cva optima v2 with fiber optic sights, or with a dead on scope mount. I am guessing the barrel with the scope mount is still drill and tapped for a front sight, but can someone confirm this.

That is my guess too. My Optima V2 which was purchased used with the scope mount, is drilled, and tapped for iron sights. It was my understanding the original owner purchased the rifle with the scope mount.

Also, it seems to me i have seen new CVA rifles in stores with scope mounts, that are drilled and tapped for iron sights. If i correctly recall, the sight holes aren't filled with those little plug screws, which i thought was kinda chintzy.

Pete, i believe those screws in the bag are for the scope mount holes, not the iron sight holes. However, i admit it has been years since i checked this out; it is possible i am incorrect.

The last one I got had two size screws for the sights and scope mount holes. A lot of guys take off the sights when they use a scope. CVA tried to cover it all.

Just checked the box of the used Optima V2. No bag of screws. It did have an envelope of shims in there. There were two breech plugs. There is a long jag, and some instructions. The screws are not important. The rifle is drilled, and tapped for sights.

For what its worth my Optima V2 pistol has the tapped hole for a front site. I assume the rifles are the same. I had a few small stainless screws on hand an replaced the blued screw that was in it.

I have a 2010 Optima, it is drilled for both iron sights and the dura-sight scope mount.

Last year I bought a CVA Wolf, it has iron sights and is also drilled for the scope mount. It had a little plastic bag with the plug screws for both the scope mount holes and also the iron sight holes. They are not the same size, the iron sight hole plugs are tiny.

I have been intending to call CVA Customer Service to get some of the iron sight hole plugs for the Optima. I called them awhile back for some firing pin springs, they were nice enough to send two for free. Give them a call, their number is: 770-449-4687.
