Whats going on
Gee guys. With spring in full swing now I would have thought there would be more posts on shooting than there are. You guys are my only sanity while here in FL. Thank goodness I will be heading home on Saturday.

Yeah, it's been too slow.
We need to all make a resolution to shoot this weekend and post a report.
I think I'll try to take the .451 465 grain Mehligs out to 200 yards in the .54 GM Renegade.

I went shooting last week. First time since last October. It was very windy that day and only had access to the 75yd range. My groups weren't the greatest, had like 3 bullets in almost one hole and then another group of 2 or 3 in another hole about 3/4" to the right. Don't know if it was the wind, me or the ML Gremlins. But for the first time shooting I wasn't too dissatisfied with the groups. I also tried some saboted 350gr White PowerStars. They shot Ok but I would need to shoot them more to determine what load works best for them. But I don't think I'll shoot them anymore as I like shooting my conicals better.

You must be new to this forum super. There have been lots of posts on BH209 here. Some swear its the best thing since sliced bread while others couldn't care one way or the other. I don't mind swabbing between shots so I fall into the latter category.

Less moisture concerns with Blackhorn -- noticeably less bore fouling -- no more breechplug grease -- far less stink and smoke at ignition - far less corrosion worries. All the other Blackhorn attributes really doesn't affect me, (for instance) 10-20 shots without swabbing-thing. I dry swab Blackhorn after every 2nd shot and never shoot more than several shots without a wet patch of 91% alcohol in a small spray bottle.
So I do believe I've been converted! Blackhorn's minor annoyances are the need for moderate force to load my 50/40 sabot bullets and the dry crust the power generates inside the breechplug flash channel.

Hope to get out next week. NF range opens today (supposed to anyway) but its raining...the weekends are just nutz trying to get a space so hope they are working during the week.
I have some Ed's Lead to try out in the S91 .451 and other goodies in the Optima V2 pistol with Blackhorn. I got spoiled with the whites, no worries with T7, but not a fan of swabbing or crud with 209's especially while hunting.

Anyway, heading to Cabela's to get a pound or 2 and some Barnes SFBT and see how that combo works. Been using T7 with TC shockwaves with great accuracy but here of late the TC terminal performance just hasn't been that grand. Had a couple of them blow up at closer range (35 yards) on hogs. I'm getting too dang old to be chasing after a hog with it's shoulder blown off to finish it with my handgun.
