The 230 grain is a very short bullet for a 1 in 28 twist, they work well in a 1 in 38 twist. If you have a 1 in 28 twist the ideal length is .95" and a 250 will work but a 275 grain is usually easy to get accuracy with.

This has given me a lot to think about.
If they will not hold up to cleanly harvest deer....then I don't want them.
May have to regulate them to someone with a 45 cal. pistol.
Have shot traditional muzzle loaders for approx.: 40 yrs. These in-lines are a new learning curve for me. But the upside is....look at all the shooting that I get to do. :)
Guess that I will look for a 250 gr XTP mag

You will never find one; they don't exist in this universe.

The XTP Mag bullet for your ML comes in 240 grain and 300 grain.

I am also a new member here. I have used these for the last several years. I have shot 15 deer with them. I have never lost one. None of them went over 50 yards. All but one of them was shot through the chest. The last one the bullet broke both shoulders and was found under the hide. This is the only one of these bullets that I have ever recovered. A friend weighed it for me and it still weighed 195 grains.

The only way you will know if they shoot good for you is to shoot them.

I use a 100 grains of Pyrodex RS out of a CVA Wolf. My groups are about 1 1/2 inches at a hundred yards.

Not trying to ruffle feathers just my experiences. By the way a friend just gave me a box of .430 240 grain xtps for Christmas will be using them for a while.
