Very nice!! How far was the deer from you when you shot? And did that bullet perform as expected? Congratulations on the deer.

Nice work Grouse!

Love them Deerstalkers. My bro-in-laws shoots lights out with .452 bullets/sabots and 90gr Goex.

Grouse, another good harvest! What is that white stuff laying around on the ground? Believe it or not we do not have any! It has been a terrible year weather wise here. Cool beans! Has your hunting partner used his tag yet?

The Precision Extreme Elites are one of the Best Buys in the sabot/bullet industry right now ($7.95). I'm about to purchase some 50/40s in 240 grain. I can get 36 (3-12pks) before the shipping costs increase.

Nice harvest Grouse and I'm a-bit jealous. I went 0 for 8 on the Michigan deer hunts this past season. I missed the first three days of rifle season, when all the action was pretty good...... or so I hear!

I shot this Deer at 65 yards. The bullet did ok. I'm so used to using a premium bullet but shouldn't complain. I didn't make a good shot really. I broke both front legs and shot low. The Deer went about 30 yards and dropped. It got back up when I got down and went in the thick stuff. I backed out and went and had breakfast. I came back and found it laying and shot it in the neck. I didn't shoot this gun all year and I should practice before going hunting.

Good job Grouse. I gave it my best up in PA. I hunted from the first day of the late flintlock season until the 7th without seeing a deer. So on the 8th I surrendered and came down to FL for the winter. But I did bring along my .58 in the hopes of shooting a meat hog. I have two place here within 45 mins of my house so I will be calling them and seeing what they have to offer.
