My M97 .451 us a 22 inch barrel but you pull back on the cocking hammer to set the plunger. I actually like that style a little better. Also, isn't the M98 heavier?

Semisane.. what does the Swamp Dragon weigh out at? And I forget the length of that barrel on that thing?

Dave, I'm bad the M98 actually has a 24"bbl and is a little heavier than the M97 but not noticeable at least to me.

WV Hunter my M98 had the stand laminated wood stock on it. However I sent it to Doc to have the full length Super Safari stock installed on it. I must say I like the feel of it much better than the original stock. Plus I think it looks a lot better and feels a lot better in my hands.

I can help but admire that rifle. Its not only beautiful to look at but knowing it was made by hand just gives it a special appeal.
