Default any Black Diamond shooters...need help.

If anyone still shoots a Black Diamond here is the issue. I've had this for 12 years and I just took it out of the box. I started reading and it seems to be very dirty with the Flamethrower system. Some go to a single port #11 cap and has half the blow back and stays much cleaner.

What I can't find is what size nipple do I need? I found one but its a lot shorter than the Flamethrower. Not sure if that will cause harm. I just need something to go on because I'm totally green to the muzzle loader world.

IIRC both the regular nipple, Hot Shot nipple and Flame Thrower nipple are 1/4x28 threads.

The only real difference is the hot shot is longer and it has 3 "flash holes" The regular nipples have one.

Here is a list of several nipples and a replacement plug.

So both of these single pots would work? All the others are 3 port. I was not sure by being shorter if it would cause damage to the barrel some how? Thanks for the reply by the way.

No need to change the breechplug. Go with a #11 nipple.

My old ThunderHawk used the same FlameThrower or regular nipple. The plug was non removable.

Both nipples interchanged just fine but the FlameThrower was a dirty beast.

I would get the musket cap and the #11 nipples just so you have all the bases covered.

Thanks for the help guys. I will get both of nipples. Besides 1/4 28 nipple is there anything important I should know? Any brand to get or avoid?
