Without a recipe this thread is only mouth watering. Nice head shots by the way!!

Want a recipe? goggle goggle or use a search engine of your choice.
I even found a recipe for Coyote and it wasn't bad at all. Cajun Coyote INGREDIENTS: * 2 cups vegetable oil * 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning * 2 tablespoons dried Italian-style seasoning * 2 tablespoons lemon pepper * garlic powder to taste * 2lbs of fresh thawed coyote meat - pounded to 1/2 inch thickness DIRECTIONS: 1. In a large shallow dish, mix the oil, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and lemon pepper. Place the coyote meat in the dish, and turn to coat with the mixture. Cover, and refrigerate for 1/2 hour. 2. Preheat the grill for high heat. 3. Lightly oil the grill grate. Drain coyote, and discard marinade. Place coyote on hot grill and cook for 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear. :D Al |
Semi your making me very hungry. That looks good
|
I'll skip on the yote thank you.
|
Nice Semi :D
|
That looks amazing. The squirrels and rabbits may be in trouble around here this weekend.
|
And it looks like they were all head shots...nice goin' Semi!!!

Below is a link to a good recipe that's pretty close to what I do, except I add a small Jalapeņo pepper for each rabbit, use chicken stock instead of beef stock, use butter instead of oil, include a 1/2 tsp of Thyme, and don't use Worcestershire Sauce.
This one will work great for rabbit, squirrel, nutria, properly cleaned coon (if you remove the scent glands under the forelegs and along the spine in the small of the back), possum, alligator, and maybe even groundhog (but we don't have those around here). Also, it's GREAT with shrimp. http://www.jfolse.com/recipes/game/rabbit03.htm |
Well done!!! ;)

Man that looks mighty tasty.
|
I wish we had more rabbits, they're numbers are very low now due to the yotes I guess. I see one now and then, but I have not seen one in the woods in probably 7-8yrs. I remember when we could go rabbit and grouse hunting and kill a decent amount every time out, with no dogs. Not anymore.
Sure looks tasty. I prefer rabbit over squirrels, just never been able to find a good recipe for squirrels that makes em tender. (maybe its just the cook) |
house cats do a number Bob rabbits.
|
Hey Van it looks like your lease produced a better rabbit season then Deer. Small game hunting was a big part of my hunting life growing up. But its been many years since we rabbit hunted.
|
Yeah jaybez, I had a crappy deer season. We protected does this year and I couldn't get the Swamp Dragon on either of the two bucks that wandered my way. The Dragon is pissed, but I've promised her numerous range sessions in the Spring.

Dang. Finally, somebody that even knows what knows good Cajun cooking is all about. Man I'd love to have plate full of that! Wouldn't happen to have some Redfish Courtbullion you could spare!

Wow, that looks good. Cottontails are hard to beat for table fare. I'm not so sure on the coyote thing though. Those buggers will eat ANYTHING! I think I'll take a rain check on yotes, thank you very much.
